Sunscreen is a substance applied on the surface of the skin to provide protection from harmful UV rays. It works by absorbing, reflecting, or scattering the UV rays. It protects the skin from sunburn, premature photoaging, and other skin issues caused by harmful UV rays.

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is a measure of how much solar energy (UV radiation) is required to produce sunburn on protected skin (i.e., in the presence of sunscreen) relative to the amount of solar energy required to produce sunburn on unprotected skin. Avoid exposing infants under 6 months to sunlight. Dress them in light, long clothes, and a brimmed hat when outdoors. For children over 6 months, use SPF 15 sunscreen, preferably oil-based with inorganic filters. Brinton UV Doux Mineral is safe for kids aged 3 and above.

Every day, year-round! Sunscreen should be used irrespective of the season. Considering the UV exposure, it is at its peak between 10 am to 4 pm. However, you must apply sunscreen whether indoors or outdoors to get protection from outdoor UV light and indoor blue light.
